How rankings work for restaurants
Oligrail.ai scores restaurants in 40 Atlanta-area ZIPs with a published method. Scores are our opinions, made from public sources; they are not facts or endorsements.
Dish lists come only from dedicated dish lists published by credible outlets (Eater Atlanta, The Infatuation, Atlanta Eats, Modern Luxury, Southern Living, Resy, Atlanta Magazine, OpenTable and Chowhound) and from how many of those outlets agree. ZIP and neighborhood scores use our overall method, which combines public critic coverage, public social signals and agreement between sources. The full rules are in our methodology.
Nobody can pay for a score, a rank, a place on a list, or removal from one. Asking us, advertising with us, or buying anything from us never changes a score.
If we have a fact wrong, such as a closure, a move, an address or a mismatched name, tell us on our Corrections page. We fix facts, and corrections never raise a score. To ask us to remove information, use our Takedown page.
We can't promise that any place will be listed, ranked or kept on a list, and we don't advise on how to get coverage. Lists change when outlets publish, update or retire their pages, and when our checks run.
We rank only places with enough public coverage that we can match to our data in 40 Atlanta-area ZIPs. A place that's missing or marked emerging isn't ranked; it may be excellent. Usually we haven't found or matched enough coverage, or a rule in our method, such as the chain rule, leaves it out.
